A visit to the Marjorelle gardens in Marrakech is an attractive couple of hours peace and quiet, hidden away in the bustling and exciting city of Marrakech.

Designed by the French artist Jacques Marjorelle in 1924, hidden away in a quiet part of Marrakech, Morocco, the Marjorelle gardens can be a worthy couple of hours of peace and quiet in this bustling Moroccan city of Marrakech. 

The Marjorelle gardens have achieved status of a top Marrakech excursion and a top Marrakech tourist attraction. 

Amongst the winding paths of the Marjorelle gardens are an impressive display of cacti. 

Fountains and ponds and to the serenity of the gardens as you wander around the impressive gardens.




In 1980 Yves Saint-Laurent bought the gardens and maintained them until his death in 2008.
Yves Saint-Laurent's ashes, along with a Memorial to him are now present at the gardens.

Dotted along the paths of the gardens are wooden benches where you can sit and admire.
A Cafe with reasonable prices is also on site. 
A small but interesting Museum and a shop onsite adds to the attraction.

The gardens are generally open as follows:

October 1st - April 30th 08:00hrs to 17:30hrs
May 1st - September 30th 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs

During the Month of Ramadan ( 2011 August) 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs.

Children must be accompanied.
Picnics and dogs are not allowed.

Entry to the garden costs 40 Dirham per person.
Entry to the Museum costs 25 Dirham per person.

Walking from The Medina to Marjorelle gardens takes about 20 minutes on average.
